FYI -
got this message from a friend - while I doubt the
C# is of interest to many here, the perl class
sounds like a good one

Classes at Foothill College begin again on September 26 and as usual I
am trying to recruit students for my classes. My PERL class already is
far above the minimum but I still need a few additional students for my
Advanced C# (CIS-019P) class. Actually I would like to get a few extra
students for both classes because I want to help out the CIS
Department. If you haven't ever studied C#, I recommend it strongly.
I attend quite a few C# User Group meetings and I have clearly seen a
pick up in C# developer positions opening up lately.
Also I would appreciate it if you would give just a moment's
thought to whether any of your friends and co-workers might be
interested in either of my classes. It turns out that word of mouth is
one of my best recruiting tools for my classes. If you can think of
any potential candidates, please forward this Email or speak to them
about my classes. I have put a summary of information about my C#
class at http://www.schrotenboer.com/foothill/cis-019p.htm and about
my Perl class at http://www.schrotenboer.com/foothill/cis-068e.htm
Advance notice: my online version of CIS-019W (ASP.NET) and CIS-054C
(SQL Server) will be offered again starting in January.
One big incentive to taking any class this fall in the Foothill
CIS Department (not just mine) is that you can get almost any Microsoft
software for only a $10 administrative fee. This includes, amongst
many others, Windows XP Professional, Windows Server 2003, Exchange
Server, BizTalk Server 2006 (when released), SQL Server 2000 (and 2005
when released), Visual Studio 2003 (and 2005 when released). The only
catch is that this software is subject to academic licensing meaning
that it can only be used for learning and other non-commercial
activities. For more details see
http://www.schrotenboer.com/foothill/msdnaa.htm
Frankly if any of you is using anything less than Windows XP
Professional, in my opinion you would be crazy not to take advantage of
this offer. Similarly, if you are still using only Visual Studio 2002,
here is your chance to move up to a significantly better tool. If
nothing else, at least look over the list of available software
packages.
Online registration runs only through Wednesday, September 21. After
that you must go through late registration starting on Monday,
September 26.
