I've got a 128 MB ATI Radeon X300 PCI-E with dual DVI outputs in my
box at work. Mandrake 10.2 recognized it w/o any problems and I'm
currently using it with two 19" Dell 1905FP LCD monitors. I used the
download version so no special drivers required as far as I recall.
I'm using the GLX drivers.
Only problem is that the 2nd monitor cuts out if I enable power saving
mode or I switch to console mode using Ctl-shift-F1 or equiv. When I
try to switch back, the monitor stays off until I enable/disable power
saving mode again but that might be a KDE bug.
As for speed, I can't say as I don't have any games installed here.
WinXP had already been preinstalled so all I had to do was tell it to
use the 2nd monitor and it just worked. Haven't watched much video on
this box but I'm pretty sure I had no problem displaying on either
monitor.
Oh, I just tried glxgears. Works fine on the primary monitor but just
a blank window on the 2nd. oh well.
Now if I can convince my wife that we need to replace our CRT's at
home with something similar...
