I still forget that this is possible for people who grew up down here.

No embarassment, I miss snow.  IIRC Chicago can get some *great* snow--in 
some ways I like the huge wet flakes drifting down through the 
streetlights at night the best.  I have a vague memory that Chicago gets a 
lot of just that kind.
