Well, I've burned three extra copies and will bring them tonight.

while the DVD booted and went into the install mode properly, it failed the "media check" based solely on calculating a different-than-expected md5sum.  There is a note in the sidebar suggesting to turn on the "pad" option in the cd/dvd burning software to avoid errors at the end of the media, but that option didn't appear via the k3b front-end [it may be there via the command line]  Of course, since I didn't know this *might* have been a problem to begin with, I obviously didn't do this.

Of course, I'm kind of curious as to how exactly they were able to put the text of the expected md5sum into the media without actually affecting the md5sum that gets calculated...
